Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, highlighting the anticipated effects of a low-pressure system named Erminio. The forecast covers the period from 1800 on March 31, 2026, until 1800 on April 1, 2026, and includes an area extending 8 kilometers seawards.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the region is currently under the influence of a weak high-pressure system. However, the low-pressure system Erminio is predicted to impact the area starting tomorrow. The weather is expected to become cloudy tonight, with isolated showers and a likelihood of thunderstorms over the north and west regions in the morning. Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are predicted to spread to the rest of the island by tomorrow morning.
The forecast also notes poor visibility, which may become very poor at times. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 19°C. Despite these conditions, no warnings have been issued for the period. Atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issue was measured at 1012 hPa.
