London: Cyprus and the United Kingdom have agreed on the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of shipping, following a meeting in London between Cyprus Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis and UK Maritime Minister Keir Mather. The meeting, held on Tuesday afternoon, marked a significant step forward in enhancing the maritime relationship between the two nations.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Hadjimanolis stated that the bilateral meeting resulted in both sides agreeing on the next steps for implementing the previously signed Memorandum of Cooperation. The ministers exchanged views on current challenges in global shipping and explored ways to further strengthen maritime cooperation between Cyprus and the UK.

Hadjimanolis' visit to London was part of a two-day working agenda, during which she also participated in the 18th Annual Capital Link Shipping and Marine Services Forum. She, alongside her British counterpart and Dr. Nikolas Tsakos, engaged in a panel discussion addressing issues impacting the international shipping community.

Speaking to Cyprus News Agency, Hadjimanolis emphasized that the Capital Link Forum serves as an essential platform for governments and the private sector to discuss developments and challenges facing global shipping. During her stay, the Deputy Minister conducted meetings with senior shipping executives to enhance cooperation and promote Cyprus as a leading international shipping center.
