Split:European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides discussed the Cyprus settlement process and Cyprus' steps toward joining the Schengen Area during the MED9 summit in Split, Croatia.

According to Cyprus News Agency, von der Leyen described the meeting as productive, highlighting their focus on the Cyprus settlement process and Cyprus' accession to Schengen.

Additionally, von der Leyen noted that the discussions included preparations for the upcoming European Council meeting, which will address issues such as lowering energy prices and reducing the cost of living.
