_:The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted the Cyprus-Malta Business Forum and B2B Meetings, aimed at fostering trade, investment, and cross-border collaboration between the two countries. The event saw participation from a delegation of Maltese business leaders alongside representatives from the Cypriot business community.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Forum was attended by Kyriakos Iordanous, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry. It brought together companies from sectors such as technology, fintech, health technology, AgriTech, and cyber resilience to identify synergies and explore opportunities for cooperation and investment.
The initiative is part of the Chamber's efforts to enhance Cyprus' international business relationships and support the global expansion of Cypriot businesses. Organized in collaboration with The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, and the Cyprus-Malta Business Association, the Forum provided a platform for dialogue and commercial opportunity identification.
The President of CCCI highlighted the strong economic ties and friendship between Cyprus and Malta, emphasizing the need for strategic partnerships in the global economy. Both countries, while small, have strengths in expertise and connectivity that position them as regional hubs linking Europe to neighboring markets.
During the event, Mark Bajada, Deputy President of The Malta Chamber of Commerce, presented an overview of Malta's economy, noting its strengths in technology, financial services, and tourism, among others. The presentation underscored the complementary economic strengths of Cyprus and Malta, and the potential for mutual economic benefits.
A key feature of the Forum was the B2B meetings between Cypriot and Maltese companies, which facilitated direct business contacts and discussions on potential collaborations. The Chamber encouraged participants to develop projects and cooperation initiatives that could yield economic value for both nations.
