Larnaca: Cyprus and France recently engaged in discussions to enhance their defence cooperation during the 3rd Strategic Dialogue held between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus and the French Armed Forces. The meeting took place at the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre facilities in Larnaca on Wednesday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the discussions were led by Lieutenant General Charis Georgiou, Director of the General Staff of the Minister of Defence of Cyprus, and Alexandre Escorcia from the Directorate of International Relations and Strategy of the French Ministry of Armed Forces. The delegations reviewed the current status of defence cooperation between the two nations and explored opportunities for further strengthening their collaboration.
In addition to bilateral cooperation, the dialogue also covered issues of mutual interest related to international and regional developments, the press release concluded. This strategic dialogue underscores the commitment of both countries to bolster their defence ties in response to evolving global and regional challenges.
