Nicosia: The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry in Cyprus is taking steps to promote the participation of Cypriot businesses in overseas trade fairs, aiming to enhance their international presence. This initiative is designed to help businesses involved in the production and marketing of products to enter global markets and boost their exports.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry announced that applications have opened for the De Minimis State Aid Scheme. This scheme is intended to support Cypriot businesses participating in overseas trade fairs where Cyprus has a national pavilion. The allocated budget for this scheme is set at £1.7 million for the year 2027.
Eligible businesses include those operating in the manufacturing and/or marketing of industrial and agricultural products, as well as businesses offering related services. The initiative's primary goal is to strengthen the international presence of Cypriot businesses in the production and marketing sectors, facilitating their entrance into international markets and increasing their exports.
The scheme will cover participation in several major exhibitions, including the Fruit Logistica exhibition in Berlin from 3-5 February 2027, PROWEIN in Dsseldorf from 7-9 March 2027, GULFOOD in Dubai from 15-19 March 2027, and the ANUGA exhibition in Cologne from 9-13 October 2027.
