Cyprus Advises Citizens to Leave Iran Immediately Amid Security Concerns

Nicosia: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an urgent advisory for Cypriot citizens, urging them to leave Iran immediately due to the current internal security situation and the increased risk of regional escalation. The advisory also recommends that citizens avoid all travel to Iran while commercial flights remain operational.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the travel advisory is effective from January 13, 2026. The Ministry has emphasized the importance of avoiding gatherings and demonstrations, remaining vigilant, and closely monitoring developments through international and local media. Cypriot citizens are encouraged to implement maximum security measures during this period.

In the event of an emergency, Cypriot citizens can contact the Embassy of Cyprus in Tehran, located at No. 9, Mahmoud Razi St., Reza Ali Hosseini St., Zaferanieh, Tehran. Cypriot citizens are also advised to register on the online registration platform for Cypriots abroad, Connect2CY, to ensure they receive timely updates and assistance if needed.
