Nicosia: Cypriots want a future defined by cooperation, opportunity, and peace, UN General-Secretary Antonio Guterres stated after concluding his engagements in Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Guterres expressed these sentiments in a post on X on Wednesday afternoon, where he emphasized the clear message he received from many Cypriots during his visit. "Their message was clear: they want a future defined by cooperation, opportunity, and peace," Guterres remarked, highlighting the aspirations of the Cypriot people.
He further assured that the United Nations remains fully committed to supporting a process towards a settlement of the Cyprus issue, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, respect, and good faith. This commitment is aimed at fostering a peaceful and cooperative future for the region, in line with the hopes expressed by the Cypriots he met.
