Cypriot sailor Pavlos Kontides won on Wedneday a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games, finishing second in the ILCA 7 (Laser) race, thus securing Cyprus' first medal at the 33rd Olympic Games. This is Kontides' second Olympic medal in his career as during the London 2012 Olympic Games he also won a silver medal, which was Cyprus' first medal in the history of the Olympics.
