Cypriot Clubs Discover Potential European Playoff Opponents

Nyon: The UEFA playoff draws for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League were conducted on Monday afternoon at UEFA headquarters, involving four Cypriot clubs: Pafos FC, AEK Larnaca, Omonia, and Aris.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Pafos FC, if successful against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League third qualifying round, will compete against the winner of the match between Lech Poznan (Poland) and Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) in the competition’s playoffs. Conversely, if Pafos are defeated by Dynamo Kyiv, they will enter the Europa League playoffs to face the winner of the contest between Hibernians (Malta) and Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel).

In the Europa League, AEK Larnaca, should they advance past Legia Warsaw, are set to meet the winner of the tie between Häcken (Sweden) and Brann (Norway) in the playoffs. If AEK are bested by Legia, they will move into the Conference League playoffs, where they will play against either Hibernian (Scotland) or Partizan Belgrade (Serbia).

Omonia, if they
progress past Araz in the Conference League third qualifying round, will face the loser of the tie between PAOK (Greece) and Wolfsberger (Austria), teams currently competing in the Europa League third qualifying round. Additionally, in the Conference League, Aris, if they eliminate AEK Athens in the third qualifying round, will confront the winner of the tie between Anderlecht (Belgium) and Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova) in the playoffs.
