Nicosia: Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, Michalis Damianos, and Greece's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Haris Theoharis, convened on Monday to explore avenues for bolstering the economic and trade relations between Cyprus and Greece.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting in Nicosia highlighted opportunities for expanding cooperation among businesses in Cyprus and Greece. This collaboration is already facilitated through business delegations, trade fairs, and direct enterprise interactions between the two countries.

The ministers also deliberated on issues pertaining to the European Union's common trade policy and broader regional economic cooperation. The press release emphasized Greece's role as Cyprus' most significant trading partner for imports and its position as the sixth largest market for Cypriot domestic exports.

Preliminary data indicates that the total trade in goods between Cyprus and Greece amounted to £3.3 billion in 2025, with Cypriot exports to Greece reaching £163 million, marking a 12.3% increase.
