Consumer Prices Index Registers Slight Increase in October 2025

Nicosia: The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices in October 2025 experienced a modest rise of 0.2% compared to October 2024, with an increase of 0.1% from September 2025.

According to Cyprus News Agency, compared with October 2024, the most notable positive changes were in the categories of Recreation and Culture, as well as Restaurants and Hotels, both registering a 5.2% increase. Conversely, the categories of Clothing and Footwear and Housing, Water Supply, Electricity, and Gas saw the largest decreases, with declines of 6.6% and 2.2%, respectively.

In comparison with September 2025, significant changes included a 3.7% rise in the Clothing and Footwear category and a 1.7% decline in Restaurants and Hotels.

During the period from January to October 2025, compared to the same period in the previous year, notable changes were observed in Recreation and Culture (6.4%), Clothing and Footwear (-6.1%), and Restaurants and Hotels (5.3%).

The largest change among economic categories compared to October 2024 was in the Energy sector, which decreased by 4.1%, while the category of Non-Energy Industrial Goods saw a 1.1% increase compared to September 2025.
