Cold Air Mass Brings Isolated Showers to Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: A cold air mass is currently affecting the sea area surrounding Cyprus, with the potential for isolated showers being forecasted for tonight, as per the latest report from the Cyprus Department of Meteorology. The weather is expected to improve tomorrow, becoming mainly fine with good visibility anticipated.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was 1021 hPa. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 18°C. No weather warnings have been issued for the period from 1800 on January 19, 2026, until 1800 on January 20, 2026.

For the West Coast, the wind will vary from northeast to east during the night, with speeds ranging from 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4. The sea state is expected to be smooth to slight, locally slight at times. In the morning and afternoon, the wind will shift to northeast to southeast, maintaining similar speeds, with the sea remaining slight.

On the South Coast, winds will blow from northwest to northeast at night, and transition to north to northeast by morning and afternoon, with speeds of 3 to 4, locally reaching 4 to 5 in the afternoon, maintaining a slight sea state.

The East Coast will experience northwest to north winds at night, shifting to northwest to northeast by morning and north to northeast in the afternoon, with consistent speeds of 3 to 4. The sea is expected to be slight throughout.

Finally, for the North Coast, northeast to southeast winds will prevail at night and morning, with speeds of 3 to 4, locally reaching 4. By afternoon, winds will adjust to northeast to east, with some areas experiencing speeds of 4 to 5, resulting in a slight to moderate sea state in localized areas.
