Cold Air Mass Brings Changing Weather Conditions to Cyprus Sea Areas

Nicosia: A cold air mass is currently affecting the Cyprus region, leading to primarily fine weather conditions that are expected to evolve into mainly cloudy skies with isolated showers during the evening.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of issue was recorded at 1024 hPa, with a sea surface temperature of 17°C and no warnings issued.

The forecast for Cyprus's sea areas includes varying wind conditions and sea states. For the West Coast, wind speeds are expected to shift from northeast to east at 3 to 4 Beaufort scale, increasing later to 4 to 5 during the night. By afternoon, winds are anticipated to reach east to southeast 5, occasionally hitting 5 to 6, with sea conditions ranging from slight to moderate.

On the South Coast, winds will transition from a north to northeast direction at 3 to 4, later intensifying to northeast 4 to 5 in the night. By afternoon, winds are expected to increase further to northeast to east 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5 to 6, with sea conditions varying from slight to moderate.

For the East Coast, the night will begin with northeast winds at 4, increasing to 4 to 5 later. The morning will see winds at northeast 4 to 5, gradually reaching 5, and by afternoon, winds will be northeast to east 5, with the sea conditions remaining slight to moderate.

The North Coast will experience northeast to southeast winds at 3 to 4 during the night, strengthening to northeast to east 4 to 5, gradually reaching 5 by morning. In the afternoon, the winds will be northeast to east 5, occasionally reaching 5 to 6, with the sea state ranging from slight to moderate.

Overall, visibility remains good across the region, despite the anticipated changes in weather and sea conditions. The Cyprus Department of Meteorology continues to monitor the situation closely.
