Central Bank of Cyprus Hosts Delegation from Central Bank of Montenegro

Nicosia: The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) recently welcomed the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Dr. Irena Radovic, along with a delegation of senior officials, for a working visit. This meeting, held on 7 July 2026, was aimed at discussing recent economic and financial developments and matters of mutual interest in the sphere of central banking.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the discussions between Dr. Christodoulos Patsalides, Governor of the CBC, and Governor Radovic centered on the practical implementation of European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and Eurosystem requirements. The dialogue covered various topics, including organisational structures, governance arrangements, resource allocation, operational efficiency, digital transformation, IT services, infrastructure, and payment systems.

Senior officials from the CBC delivered presentations that provided insights and experiences from Cyprus' journey to European Union accession and euro area membership. These exchanges offered valuable lessons for the Montenegrin delegation as they prepare for future integration into the ESCB and the Eurosystem.

The visit was noted as a constructive opportunity for both institutions to share experiences and best practices, with the CBC expressing its commitment to further strengthening the professional relationship with the CBCG.
