CCCI Discusses Economic and Business Relations with Libyan Delegation

Nicosia: An opportunity to discuss bilateral business cooperation and facilitating new commercial partnerships was provided during a high-level meeting between the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and a delegation from Libya's National Development Agency (NDA).

According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting was focused on strengthening economic and business relations between Cyprus and Libya. It was also added that 'particular emphasis was placed on sectors offering strong potential for collaboration, including construction and infrastructure, renewable energy, and the development and modernisation of ports and airports'.

It was also mentioned that as part of the visit, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry arranged a series of meetings between the Libyan delegation and Cypriot companies, creating a platform for direct discussions on potential projects, investment opportunities, and areas of mutual interest.

'The strong interest and constructive engagement demonstrated by the participating Cypriot companies underscored the growing potential for closer economic ties between Cyprus and Libya, as well as the readiness of the Cypriot business community to contribute its expertise and capabilities to Libya's ongoing development,' CCCI underlines, while expressing the commitment 'to facilitating meaningful business connections and supporting the further development of trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Cyprus and Libya.'

The CCCI was represented by its President, Stavros Stavrou, Secretary General, Philokypros Roussounides, and Deputy Secretary General, Emilios Michael. The Libyan delegation included Dr Mahmoud Elforjani, Director General of the NDA, and Faraj Aljariri, Director of International Cooperation.
