Nicosia: The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) has announced its decision to keep the countercyclical buffer rate (CCyB rate) for exposures located within the Republic of Cyprus unchanged at 1.5%. This decision will take effect from 14 January 2026.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the CBC stated in a press release that it “deemed appropriate to maintain the CCyB rate at 1.5%, which is the rate adopted as per the decision of the CBC announced on 14 January 2025. The said rate will be effective as from 14 January 2026.” The current applicable rate is 1%.
