Calm Seas Forecasted Around Cyprus: Meteorological Report

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating predominantly calm and stable conditions for the period from 1800 on November 9, 2025, until 1800 on November 10, 2025. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards from the coast. During this period, the atmospheric pressure is recorded at 1020 hPa, and the weather is expected to remain mainly fine with good visibility across the region. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 24°C, with no warnings issued.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast details the expected wind patterns and sea state for various coastal areas around Cyprus. For the West Coast, winds during the night are anticipated to be from the northwest to northeast at a Beaufort scale of 3, resulting in smooth to slight sea conditions. In the morning, wind directions are expected to shift from northeast to southeast, and gradually to southeast to southwest, with wind speeds increasing to 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. By afternoon, winds will transition from west to northwest, occasionally reaching a Beaufort scale of 4, leading to smooth to slight but occasionally slightly rougher sea conditions locally.

The South Coast is expected to experience northwest to north winds at a Beaufort scale of 3 during the night, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. Morning winds will shift from northwest to northeast, gradually changing to southeast to southwest with Beaufort scale 3 to 4 winds, while the afternoon will see southeast to southwest winds at Beaufort scale 3, keeping the sea state smooth to slight.

For the East Coast, nighttime winds are forecasted to be northwest at a Beaufort scale of 3, with a smooth to slight sea state. Morning conditions will see winds shift from northwest to northeast, gradually becoming northeast to southeast at Beaufort scale 3. In the afternoon, northeast to southeast winds will persist, occasionally reaching a Beaufort scale of 4 locally, resulting in smooth to slight and occasionally slightly rougher conditions.

Lastly, the North Coast will experience southeast to southwest winds at Beaufort scale 3 during the night, leading to smooth to slight sea conditions. The morning will bring a shift to southeast to southwest winds, gradually transitioning to northwest to north at Beaufort scale 3 to 4. By afternoon, winds are predicted to be northwest to north at Beaufort scale 3, ensuring a smooth to slight sea state throughout the period.
