Athens and Nicosia Coordinate Amid Major Fire in Corinthia

Athens: The Cypriot Minister of Justice, Marios Hartsiotis, is maintaining communication with his Greek counterpart, Giannis Kefalogiannis, to discuss potential assistance from Greece to combat a fire in the mountainous area of Limassol. This coordination underscores the close ties between the two nations in addressing emergency situations.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a telephone conversation took place on Wednesday afternoon between the two ministers. Despite the willingness to assist, Greece was unable to send aircraft to Cyprus due to a significant fire in Corinthia. This fire demanded the deployment of more than 25 aircraft, highlighting the severity of the situation and the prioritization of resources to manage the immediate threat in Corinth.
