Cyprus Defence Minister, Charalambos Petrides, has said that that “we are not going to give up and surrender” due to the illegal actions and unacceptable positions of the Turkish side, noting that “we react using all available means, our EU membership, the strategic alliances with all neighbouring states and international diplomacy, pursuing to strengthen our positions and proposals.”
Addressing on Sunday morning the unveiling of a m?nument for the people of Meniko who were killed and went missing during the Turkish invasion of 1974, Petrides underlined that “we have made it clear to the international community that a Cyprus settlement will not derogate from the UN resolutions and the agreed framework of a bizonal, bicommunal federation.”
