We want a just and viable solution without any divisive elements, President says

We are working towards achieving a just and viable solution to the Cyprus problem, President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades has said.

A solution, he further explained , that we could propose to the next generations and which will be based on and take into consideration first their creative virtues without any divisive elements that would cause new frictions and tensions.

President Anastasiades was speaking at a special ceremony held on Tuesday at the Presidential Palace during which he awarded the “Diplomas of the Republic” to the Scouts.

In his speech, he outlined the policies which are being implemented by his government with the aim to support and strengthen the multifaceted action of scouting.

He stressed that the Ministry of Education and Culture grants to the Cyprus Scout Association an annual state subsidy amounted to 46 thousand euros for 2017.

The UN-backed talks that took place between June 28-July 7, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland ended inconclusively. Peace talks aim to reunite Cyprus, divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion, under a federal roof.
