We seek an end to discrimination against people with a history of cancer, Commissioner Kyriakides said ahead of Cyprus visit

“Still today, despite enormous progress in medicine, persons with a history of cancer face numerous social and financial challenges, including limited access to mortgages and loans”, Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakides said ahead of a visit to Cyprus on October 7th and October 8th, during which she will lead the Europa Donna Cyprus “Pink Silhouette March”.

Kyriakides underlined that this must change and called on people to participate in the march, which will be held on October 8th.

“It is with utmost determination and we are launching an EU-wide process to address the ‘right to be forgotten’ in all Member States, as we committed to under Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan” she added.

On Friday October 7th the Commissioner will address the High Level Ministerial Conference organised by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus entitled “COVID-19: the path after the pandemic”.

On the same day, the Commissioner will also visit the German Oncology Centre in Limassol.
