We are expecting from Anastasiades to tell us in which concrete ways to offer our help to Cyprus, Osadchiy tells CNA

We want to help Cyprus as long as President Anastasiades tells us in which concrete ways he wants us to help him, in the framework of the UN Security Council or directly at the negotiations, Russian Ambassador in Cyprus Stanislav Osadchiy has told CNA.

Asked about the Presidents remarks on Thursday that the Russian Federation as a permanent member of the Security Council could assume a more active role as regards the external dimension of a settlement of the Cyprus problem and the new security arrangements which would exclude the existing anachronistic ones, Osadchiy said that “we are always ready to help Cyprus.”

“And now we want to offer our help as long as the President tells us in which concrete ways he wants us to help, how to help him within the UN Security Council or directly at the negotiations,” said the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, which is currently presiding the UN Security Council.

“It depends on your side, what you concretely want from us, but we are always willing to help,” he noted. “We are always by your side to help you, to push the ideas which you support forward. We really want the Cypriots to live in peace, without particular concerns about their future,” the Russian Ambassador concluded.
