Water resources discussed between Cypriot Agriculture Minister and Hungarian Foreign Minister

There are many fields for potential cooperation between Cyprus and Hungary in sustainable water management, which could be beneficial for both countries, Cypriot Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Costas Kadis said on Friday, during a meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade PeterSzijjarto.

According to a press release, Kadis referred to the water shortage problem, noting that climate change was expected to bring about significant changes in water availability across Europe.

Szijjarto agreed that the two countries had much to gain from the exchange of knowledge and experiences, noting that Hungary could offer economic solutions to private companies in Cyprus, thus encouraging business cooperation between the two countries.

The two Ministers decided to set up a channel of communication and sign a memorandum of cooperation in October 2019, during the water summit in Budapest.
