VP Timmermans debriefs College of Commissioners on Cyprus talks

European Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans debriefed today the College of Commissioners on the negotiations for a Cyprus solution currently underway in Crans Montana, Switzerland.

According to the EC Chief Spokesman Margaritis Schinas, the First Vice President represented Jean Claude Juncker in the Conference on Cyprus last week and informed the college that progress has been made, but work is still on going.

UN facilitated peace talks began in Crans-Montana June 28th to help find a negotiated settlement that would reunite Cyprus, divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion.
