House President Annita Demetriou underlined the role of Parliaments in tackling the environmental challenges, during the 14th Conference of Chairs of Parliaments of small European states taking place at the city of Herceg Novi in Montenegro.
She said that environmental disasters as a result of climate crisis are becoming more intense and therefore it is urgent to intervene to meet the targets set in the Paris Agreement.
Demetriou underlined that the Mediterranean Sea is a hot spot as regards the climate crisis and the challenges the countries of the region face, need a joint action.
