UK Minister for Europe to return to Crans Montana on Friday

The UK Foreign Secretary and Minister for Europe have returned to the UK following the reconvening of the Conference on Cyprus in Switzerland’s Crans Montana.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said that Boris Johnson and Sir Alan Duncan returned ahead of a vote in Parliament. Tonight and tomorrow the House of Commons gets to vote on the minority government’s policy proposals for the next two years and on amendments tabled by the opposition, in what is essentially a vote of confidence.

UK support for a settlement of the Cyprus issue remains steadfast and the UK will continue to be represented during the Conference on Cyprus in Switzerland, the spokeswoman added.

The Cyprus News Agency understands that the Minister for Europe Sir Alan Duncan will return to Crans Montana on Friday.

In the absence of ministerial representation, the Director of National Security at the Foreign Office Jonathan Allen will be leading the British delegation in the talks.
