UAE Ambassador expresses firm support for a Cyprus solution based on UN resolutions

Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Nicosia Abdelwab Nasir � Najjar has expressed once more his countrys support towards a solution of the Cyprus problem on the basis of the relevant UN resolutions.

The outgoing Ambassador was received on Wednesday by President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris, with whom they discussed about bilateral relations, parliamentary relations, and the Cyprus problem.

According to a press release by the Parliament, Syllouris expressed his willingness to further enhance bilateral parliamentary relations and briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments of the Cyprus issue, noting that Turkeys intrasigent stance on the issue poses many obstacles.

The Ambassador reiterated his countrys firm stance for a solution of the Cyprus problem based on the UN resolutions and said he would continue to work for the benefit of the Cyprus – UAE relations from any post he may have in the future.

Concluding, Najjar referred to the establishment of an UAE Embassy in Nicosia saying that it gave new impetus to the relations of the two countries.
