Two deaths, 177 patients and 508 new COVID-19 cases announced in Cyprus on Saturday

Two deaths of Covid-19 patients were announced on Saturday in Cyprus by the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry also announced that 75,844 PCR and rapid tests were carried out and 508 new Covid-19 cases were detected bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 144,713. The positivity rate now stands at 0.67%.

The deaths concerned an 82-year-old woman and a man 75 years old. The woman died on Friday in Larnaca hospital and the man on Saturday in Nicosia General Hospital. The death toll has increased to 619 of whom 394 men (63.7%), and 225 women (36.3%) with the average age being 75.8 years old.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health announced that 177 patients are being treated in hospitals of whom 59 are in serious condition and of these 21 are intubated. Also 38 patients are receiving treatment in an Increased Care Unit.
