Trade deficit shows increase in first three months of 2017

The trade deficit in Cyprus in the first three months of the year increased compared to the corresponding period in 2016, reaching Euros 1.267,1mn in January – March 2017 compared to Euros 497,1mn last year. According to data published in the new monthly electronic publication Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country) for January-March 2017, of the Statistical Service of Cyprus,total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from EU countries) in January -March 2017 amounted to Euros 1.841,2mn as compared to Euros 1.359,1mn in January – March 2016.
