Trade deficit records annual decrease in January – February 2021

Cyprus` trade deficit recorded a decrease in January – February 2021 compared to the corresponding period last year.

According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, the trade deficit was €999.8 mn in January – February 2021 compared to €1,014.1 mn in the corresponding period of 2020.

The data is included in the Statistical Service`s monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January – February 2021.

According to the Statistical Service, total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – February 2021 amounted to €1,332.7 mn  compared to €1,453.0 mn in January – February 2020, recording a decrease of 8.3%.
