Trade deficit in Cyprus increased by Euros 453 million in first 11 months of 2019

The trade deficit in Cyprus recorded an increase of 453 million euro in the first 11 months of 2019, compared to the same period of 2018. The trade deficit was Euros 4,652.3 million in January-November 2019 compared to Euros 4,199.1 million in the corresponding period of 2018.

According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January-November 2019 amounted to Euros 7,528.6 mn as compared to Euros 8,341.5 mn in January-November 2018. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-November 2019 were Euros 2,876.3 mn compared to Euros 4,142.4 mn in January-November 2018.

Total imports in January-November 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of Euros 960 mn as compared to Euros 1,541.8 mn in January-Nov
