Trade deficit in Cyprus declines in first four months of 2018

Trade deficit in Cyprus recorded a decline of 19.3% in the first four months of 2018.

According to data released Monday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, the trade deficit was Euros 1,350.9 mn in January – April 2018 compared to Euros 1,674.2 mn in the corresponding period of 2017.

Total imports in January – April 2018 amounted to Euros 2,952.9 mn as compared to Euros 2,485.7 mn in January – April 2017. Total exports in January – April 2018 were Euros 1,602.0 mn compared to Euros 811.5 mn in January – April 2017.

Total exports of domestically produced goods, excluding stores and provisions, in January – April 2018 were Euros 435.1 mn compared to Euros 395.4 mn in January – April 2017. Total domestic exports of industrial products in January – April 2018 were Euros 389.4 mn compared to Euros 346.9 mn in January – April 2017. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in January – April 2018 were Euros 42.8 mn compared to Euros 41.5 mn in January – April 2017.
