Total sales of petroleum products up by 6.4% in May

Total sales of petroleum products rose by 6.4% in May 2019 compared with April with sales recording a marginal increase compared with May 2018, the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) announced.

According to Cystat, the increase in total sales was mainly driven by a rise in the provisions of aviation kerosene as well as in the sales of heavy fuel oil, gasoil low sulphur, motor gasoline and asphalt.

On the contrary, a decrease was recorded in the sales of kerosene, gasoil, liquefied petroleum gases, as well as in the provisions of gasoil for marine use.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month recorded an increase of 7.9% compared to the previous month.

During the period January � May 2019, the total sales of petroleum products recorded a rise of 4.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Cystat added.
