Total exports in 2019 record a decrease, trade deficit was up

Total imports in Cyprus covering the period January – December 2019, amounted to €8.235,9mn as compared to €9.200,0 mn in January – December 2018, according to data released Monday by the Statistical Service.

Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January – December 2019 were €3.146,2mn compared to €4.309,9 mn in January – December 2018. The trade deficit was €5.089,7mn in January – December 2019, compared to €4.890,1 mn in the corresponding month of 2018.

According to the data, the total exports of domestically produced goods, excluding stores and provisions, in January – December 2019 were €1.300,4mn compared to €1.565,1 mn in January – December 2018.

Total domestic exports of industrial products in January – December 2019 were €1.185,3mn compared to €1.450,5 mn in January – December 2018. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in January – December 2019 were €96,6mn compared to €94,1 mn in January – December 2018.
