Total employment was up by 3% at the 4th quarter of 2022 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2021, according to data released Wednesday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
In particular, according to the official data, total employment for the 4th quarter of 2022 is estimated at 461,345 persons, of which 410,634 are employees and 50,711 are self-employed.
The most significant percentage increases were observed in the economic activities of Information and communication, Accommodation and Food Services, Professional, Scientific and Technical activities and Administrative and Supporting Service activities.
Actual hours worked for the 4th quarter of 2022 are estimated at 211.2 million, an increase of 3.5% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2021. The most significant percentage increases were observed in the economic activities of Accommodation and Food Services, Information and Communication , Professional, Scientific and Technical activities and Administrative and Supporting Service activities.
