Total 17 coronavirus patients at Referral hospital, another tests positive in Oncology Clinic

A total of 17 patients who tested positive for coronavirus are being treated at Famagusta General Hospital which is operating as a Referral hospital while a patient at the Limassol Oncology Clinic has tested positive.

CNA has learnt that there are 17 patients at the hospital, two of which are in the Special Care unit.

More patients are expected to be admitted during the day. For the time being, no patients are scheduled to be discharged on Friday.

A member of staff at the gynaecological clinic of the Famagusta General Hospital is in quarantine after the member tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a patient at the Oncology Clinic of Limassol General Hospital has tested positive, mobilizing officials at the hospital.

State Health Services Organisation spokesman, CharalambosCharilaou said it was a Briton who was in a room with another patient who had to be transferred to another room for isolation. The area is being fumigated and those who came into contact with the patient are also now in isolation.

No more admissions will be allowed at the specific clinic and patients already in hospital cannot be discharged until the results of their tests are ready.
