Thousands flock to Limassol for the Carnival

Thousands have flocked to the coastal city of Limassol on Sunday for the the most famous Carnival parade of the island.

It is estimated that around 35,000 people paraded along Makarios Avenue and as Mayor Nicos Nicolaides had said, this year the Carnival has drawn the most participations.

A total of 110 groups and floats took part at the Carnival. The King and Queen paraded first, accompanied by a group of Cheerleaders. The Carnival celebrations concluded in the evening with a big outdoor dance.

A second carnival parade took place in Pafos, on the southwest coast of the island.
