The President of the Republic will pay an official visit to Lebanon

The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades leaves today, 11 June, for Lebanon where he will pay a three-day official visit.

Tomorrow, the President will be officially welcomed by the President of Lebanon Mr Michel Aoun with whom they will hold official talks.

Among the issues to be discussed at the talks are the bilateral relations of Cyprus and Lebanon, regional matters, EU-Lebanon relations and the latest developments on the Cyprus problem.

During his stay in Beirut, the President will also meet with the Patriarch of Maronites Bechara Butros Rai, the Grand Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian, the Patriarch of Antioch and All East John and the Patriarch of Armenians Aram.

He will also meet with the House Speaker Mr Nabih Berri.

The President of the Republic will also meet with the Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr Saad Hariri.

During his visit, the President of the Republic will address a business forum organised by the Chambers of Commerce of Cyprus and Lebanon.

The President, who will be accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, Energy Mr George Lakkotrypis and the Government Spokesman Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will return to Cyprus in the evening of 14 June.
