The President of the Republic sent a message of condolence to the President of Afghanistan

The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades sent today a message of condolence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr Ashraf Ghani.

In his message the President stated the following: I am deeply saddened by the large loss of life and injuries caused by the brutal terrorist attack in Kabul, on 31st May 2017.

This heinous crime is another crude reminder of the terrorist threat to our societies and shows once again the need for solidarity and concerted action in order to combat terrorism decisively and effectively.

On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured.

At this time of sorrow our thoughts and prayers are with the Government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
