The President of the Republic sent a letter of condolence to the President of the Russian Federation

The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades has sent a letter of condolence to the President of the Russian Federation, Mr Vladimir Putin, for the victims of the terrorist attack in St Petersburg.

In his letter, the President of the Republic states the following:

“It is with great sorrow that I received the tragic news about the hideous attack in St Petersburg.

Devastated by the tragic loss of innocent lives, as a result of the terrorist attack at the St Petersburg metro station, I express on behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Cyprus my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and my sincere wishes to those injured for a speedy recovery.

I strongly condemn this cowardly act and, at this difficult moment, I express our wholehearted solidarity to the friendly people of Russia. Our thoughts are with you and with the families of the innocent victims.”
