Averof Neofytou and Nikos Christodoulides can’t bring about a change, since both of them are part of the problem, said General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, in his speech at the 28th Provincial Conference of AKEL Famagusta, at Agia Napa.
He added that both of them are protagonists of a situation which people demand to change.
In his speech, Stefanou said that the presidential elections “are being held at a very critical turning point for our country. Their result will determine where our country and our society will go.” He added that Cyprus cannot continue to slide towards the consolidation of the division and passively watching this development.
He added that this shows the failure of the management of Cyprus problem by Nicos Anastasiades, to whom Averof Neophytou’s party DISY offers continuous and uninterrupted support and coverage.
Mavroyiannis visit to Solea
A bold housing policy is needed more than ever, with the provision of incentives and the creation of the necessary infrastructure, in order to bring people back to the countryside, said the independent candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Andreas Mavroyiannis, in his statements during a tour in communities of the Soleas valley.
Saying that the conditions in the area are the best for agricultural, livestock and manufacturing he stressed the need to support entrepreneurship.
Accompanied by members of his staff, friends and supporters of his candidacy Mavroyiannis toured in communities of the Solea Valley, where he held an open dialogue with the citizens, says a press release.
DIKO condemns the attack at Christodoulides’ headquarters
The Democratic Party, in a press release, condemns the vandalism committed by night walkers against the headquarters of the electoral staff of the Independent Candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, in Limassol.
“These actions are directed against democracy itself and offend the Cypriot society. We express our full support to Nikos Christodoulides whom we wholeheartedly support because with the honesty, morals and respect for democratic principles and values, gives an honest election fight and hope for a better tomorrow”, it is noted.
Achilleas Dimitriades tour in the villages of the Limassol district
Independent candidate Achilleas Dimitriades toured the Limassol district during the weekend of September 24 and 25, with visits to Agios Ambrosios, Lofou, Pano Kyvides, Agios Tychonas and Pentakomo, while he also met with the Mayor and the Municipal Council of Mesa Geitonia, according to a press release from his staff.
