The Ambassador of Cyprus to the French Republic presented his credentials

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the French Republic, Mr Pantias D. Eliades, presented on Wednesday, 9 November 2016, his credentials to H.E. President Francois Hollande, at a formal ceremony in Paris.

At a meeting following the ceremony, the Ambassador thanked the French President for his country’s constant support in matters pertaining to the Cyprus question. He also briefed President Hollande on the ongoing phase of the intensive peace talks, being held in Switzerland.

Mr Eliades expressed the satisfaction of the Cypriot Government for the excellent level of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

President Hollande reiterated France’s interest in Cyprus and the Cyprus problem, stressing that Cyprus doesn’t stand alone. He wished a positive outcome of the current negotiations.
