Talks have been “quite good lately” Eide tells CNA

UN Secretary Generals Special Advisor on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide has told CNA that despite a very difficult surrounding climate, the talks themselves “have been quite good lately”. Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, said the UN continue to have full confidence in the work of Eide. Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides said the willingness to reach a solution of the Cyprus problem is judged at the negotiating table and dismissed allegations of Turkish media that the sides have pledged a moratorium of hydrocarbons-related activities until July 31st. Meanwhile, the agenda of the next meeting between the two leaders has been agreed between the two negotiators, Andreas Mavroyiannis and Ozdil Nami.
