Syllouris and Egyptian Ambassador discuss Cyprus’ role between EU and Middle East

The friendly relations between Cyprus and Egypt, and the role Cyprus can play as a bridge between the EU and the countries of the Middle East, were discussed on Tuesday between President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris and Egyptian Ambassador in Nicosia Mai Taha Mohamed Khalil.

According to a press release, Syllouris reaffirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and his recent meeting in Cairo with the President of the Egyptian Parliament Dr. Ali Abdel Aal, who will soon be visiting Cyprus. He also referred to a trilateral meeting among Cyprus, Egypt, and Greece on a parliamentary level.

Khalil pointed out the important role Cyprus can play as a bridge between the EU and the countries of the Middle East, and said she looked forward to further enhancing relations between the parliaments of Cyprus and Egypt.
