Slovak Ambassador briefs House Committee over EU Presidency priorities

Strengthening the unity in the EU is a priority for the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the EU, the countrys Ambassador Oksana Tomova told the House Committee on Foreign and European Affairs on Tuesday.

According to an official announcement, Tomova presented her countrys presidency priorities upon the invitation of the House Committee and told MPs that Bratislava aims at a financially robust Union, on the basis of a modern single market, sustainable migration and asylum policies, and a bloc that is globally active.

She also noted that Slovakia has focused its working programme on security challenges in relation to the migrant and refugee crisis, as well as on issues related to the economic recovery, competition, digital single market and the Energy Union.
