Seven new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Cyprus, Health Ministry says

Seven cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Cyprus, Health Ministry announced on Friday, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 21.

The Ministry said in a statement that these five persons, who were in self-isolation at their homes, had close contact with other two cases of coronavirus-infected persons confirmed the previous days, adding that these five cases have been located as part of the tracing of previous confirmed cases.

Among these five new cases is a person who was hospitalised in Limassol General Hospital.

The Ministry also said that one person who recently travelled to Britain and was self-isolated at home contacted the authorities when he showed symptoms related to coronavirus.

Furthermore, the Ministry noted that its epidemic monitoring unit began tracing the contacts of these new cases and has taken samples for further tests.
