Revenue from tourism increases slightly in August

Revenue from tourism reached Euros 428.2 mln in August 2018 compared to Euros 423.6 mln in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 1.1%.

On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, announced Friday by the Statistical Service, for the period of January � August 2018 revenue from tourism is estimated at Euros 1,889.7 mln compared to Euros 1,845.7 mln in the corresponding period of 2017, recording an increase of 2.4%.

The expenditure per person for August 2018 reached Euros 800.65 compared to Euros 809.01 in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 1%. The expenditure per person/per day for August 2018 compared to August 2017 also recorded a decrease of 1% (from Euros 78.54 to Euros 77.73). The average length of stay remained the same as last year (10.3 days).

The expenditure per person for the period of January � August 2018 reached Euros 694.85 compared to Euros 733.03 in the corresponding period of the previous year, recording a decrease of 5.2%. The expenditure per person/per day for the period of January � August 2018 compared to the period of January � August 2017 also recorded a decrease of 3.1% (from Euros 77.98 to Euros 75.53).
