President of Israel expresses full support to Cyprus, Greece and Israel cooperation on diaspora issues

President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin, expressed on Wednesday his full support to the trilateral cooperation among Cyprus, Greece and Israel on diaspora issues, during a meeting he had with the competent officials of the three countries, namely Presidential Commissioner Photis Photiou, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Terens Quick and the Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel Isaac Herzog, in Jerusalem, where a round table discussion of diaspora organizations leaders from the three countries took place on Tuesday.

Photiou told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that Rivlin also expressed his readiness to offer any help needed with a view to further deepen this cooperation, and noted that he encourages any actions towards this direction, and that there is now a historic momentum as regards the development of the three countries’ relations.

The Presidential Commissioner also said that in the framework of the round table discussion with the participation of leaders of three diaspora organizations of each country, the establishment of a youth forum was decided.

This will be a joint project for the young people of the three countries’ diasporas that will take place in the summer to discuss geopolitical and geostrategic issues, as well as subjects related to the culture, history and civilization of each country, so that these young people will get to know the three countries better, Photiou said.

Cyprus will be the last country of their visit, during the days when the Overseas Cypriots will be having their annual meeting on the island, he noted.
