President informs EU leaders convening in Slovakia on Cyprus issue

President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiades called today for the strengthening of the EUs role in the Cyprus issue resolution process, while briefing his 26 counterparts on the state of play of the negotiations, during the Informal Meeting on the Future of Europe in Slovakia, Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides informed the Press in Bratislava.

According to the Spokesman, “during the meeting, the President of the Republic was urged by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk to inform his colleagues about the state of affairs at the negotiating table”.

President Anastasiades made an account of the issues on which understanding or convergences have been achieved, and about the topics where there are still disagreements and about the challenges we face in the immediate future.
